Evergreen Earrings

$125.00

There's something about wandering among the evergreens of northwest Montana that makes me feel wonderfully small… in the best way possible. Towering trees, layers upon layers of green, and that unmistakable forest fragrance that seems to settle right into your body.

These forests are home to an incredible diversity of life, from the birds and animals sheltered among their branches to the fungi and microorganisms working away beneath the soil. And beneath all that visible beauty, tree roots and fungal networks participate in the exchange of nutrients and other resources, helping sustain the forest as a living ecosystem.

Inspired by the lush forests surrounding the Flathead Valley, in the ancestral homelands of the Séliš (Bitterroot Salish), Ql̓ispé (Upper Pend d'Oreille), and Ksanka (Kootenai) peoples, whose living cultures and relationships with these lands continue today. These Evergreen earrings bring together deep woodland greens, soft ivory, and little touches of gold in a long, slender weaving. A celebration of the beautiful, interconnected world of the forest.

Part of The Great West collection, lovingly created during a summer spent traveling through Wyoming, Montana, and eastern Washington.

Hand-woven with high-quality Miyuki glass beads, natural thread, and 18K gold-plated sterling silver (925) earwires. Only the good stuff. :)

25% of proceeds from this pair are donated to Snqʷeyłmistn, a Native-led nonprofit supporting Indigenous children and families on Montana's Flathead Reservation through cultural education, traditional lifeways, and connection to their ancestral lands.
