Part of The Great West collection, lovingly created during a summer spent traveling through Wyoming, Montana, and eastern Washington in our Airstream in a search for where we’re meant to call home. I never would have picked Montana on a map and thought, this might be it. But sometimes our bodies seem to know things before our minds can make sense of them…
As we drove through a canyon of endless evergreens and descended into the Flathead Valley, something remarkable happened. My whole body relaxed, widened, and filled with the most beautiful water-like sensation. It felt as though the landscape was greeting me with a great big welcome. Unexpected, a little mysterious, and absolutely unforgettable.
Inspired by the forests, mountains, and rivers of this beautiful region, the Flathead Valley of northwest Montana, and the ancestral homelands of the Séliš (Bitterroot Salish), Ql̓ispé (Upper Pend d'Oreille), and Ksanka (Kootenai) peoples, whose living cultures and relationships with these lands continue today.
These Homecoming earrings bring together deep evergreen, soft moss, warm ivory, and golden details in a petite, earthy weaving. A little keepsake from a place that made me feel wonderfully at home.
Hand-woven with high-quality Miyuki glass beads, natural thread, and 18K gold-plated sterling silver (925) earwires. Only the good stuff. :)
25% of proceeds from this pair are donated to Snqʷeyłmistn, a Native-led nonprofit supporting Indigenous children and families on Montana's Flathead Reservation through cultural education, traditional lifeways, and connection to their ancestral lands.
