Every so often, you find yourself somewhere that feels a little like coming home, even if you've never been there before. That's how I felt during our time in Twisp, a teeny-tiny artsy mountain town tucked into Washington's Methow Valley.
Beyond the beautiful landscape, it was the people and the values woven into everyday life that left such an impression on me. A community that seems to genuinely appreciate good food, art, nature, and the many ways we can live more thoughtfully in relationship with the world around us.
Just before the summer solstice, we joined a small gathering called Walking Methow Waters, an invitation to honor the rivers and relate to water as a relative, rather than simply a resource. There were songs shared, berries foraged, wisdom received, and a few kindred spirits met along the way. Simple, grounded, and full of heart.
These earrings were woven intuitively during our time there, carrying a little of that warmth and connection into their floral patterns, earthy colors, and long, flowing fringe. A celebration of the relationships that make a place feel like so much more than somewhere we happen to be.
Part of The Great West collection, created during a summer spent traveling through Wyoming, Montana, and eastern Washington in our Airstream. Made with gratitude for the ancestral homelands of the Methow people, whose descendants continue their relationships with this land today.
Lovingly hand-woven with high-quality Miyuki glass beads, natural thread, and 18K gold-plated sterling silver (925) earwires. Only the good stuff. :)
25% of proceeds from this pair are donated to the Methow Descendants, supporting Indigenous cultural traditions, community gatherings, and care for ancestral lands.
