One of my favorite things about late spring in Wyoming is the welcoming of wildflower season. Wandering through meadows near the Tetons, I kept noticing little bursts of yellow and white glittering among the grasses. Arrowleaf balsamroot, dandelions, daisy-like blooms… all these cheerful little flowers bringing fresh life to the landscape.
On our travels through the state, I was wowed by earthy expanses, where open plains meet rugged, ancient rock formations. The warm golden tones in these weavings were inspired by that landscape, while the little pops of ivory and yellow recall the wildflowers scattered throughout our wanderings.
This pair is part of The Great West collection, woven during a summer spent traveling and created with gratitude for the landscapes of northwestern Wyoming, ancestral homelands of the Eastern Shoshone, Shoshone-Bannock, and many other Indigenous peoples whose relationships with these lands continue today.
Lovingly hand-woven with high-quality Miyuki glass beads, natural thread, and 18K gold-plated sterling silver (925) kidney-style earwires. Only the good stuff. :)
25% of proceeds from this pair support From Earth to Sky: Eastern Shoshone Way, an initiative dedicated to preserving cultural knowledge, uplifting traditional arts, and creating space for future generations to learn, gather, and carry their traditions forward.
