Resilience Earrings

$65.00

There's so much wisdom to be found in the resilience of desert plants. Utah junipers grow slowly, extending their roots deep and wide to make use of precious moisture, sometimes living for centuries in places where little else can take hold. Their berry-like cones feed birds and small mammals through the colder months, while their branches offer shelter from the elements. Sagebrush has its own way of thriving, with roots that reach into different layers of the soil, aromatic leaves that help it conserve water, and a remarkable ability to capture drifting snow, holding moisture in the landscape for the seasons ahead. Its foliage provides nourishment for wildlife through winter, when other food is scarce.

What I find especially beautiful is that these plants don't simply endure the desert's harshness. In adapting to it, they become part of what makes life possible for so many others. A lovely reminder that resilience isn't always about toughness or resistance, but also about resourcefulness, reciprocity, and the ways we support one another.

Inspired by these hardy, generous plants, the Resilience earrings weave together deep juniper greens, soft sage, and warm ivory, with little touches of gold and orange. A celebration of the high desert's abundance and the many ways life adapts and flourishes.

Part of the Utah Desert collection, lovingly created in Torrey, Utah, on the ancestral homelands of the Southern Paiute people.

Hand-woven with high-quality Miyuki glass beads, natural thread, and 18K gold-plated sterling silver (925) kidney-style earwires. Only the good stuff. :)

25% of proceeds from this pair are donated to the Koosharem Band of the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah and Utah Diné Bikéyah, in the spirit of reciprocity and care for the land and its people.
