The mountains of Peru's Sacred Valley are anything but ordinary. Known as Apus in Andean traditions, these sacred mountain beings are understood as living presences, with whom people have cultivated relationships of respect, reverence, and reciprocity for generations.
During my travels through the Andes, I found myself continually drawn to their presence. Towering above fertile valleys, ancient terraces, and little mountain communities, they hold a special place in the landscape and the lives of those who call it home. I love that this understanding of Nature as alive and relational continues to be honored through ceremony and everyday life.
Inspired by the beauty of the Apus and the landscape below them, these earrings bring together warm ivory, soft earth tones, and touches of green and gold in an expressive diamond-shaped weaving with flowing fringe.
Part of the Sacred Valley collection, inspired by my travels through the Peruvian Andes, with gratitude for the land and its living Quechua cultures.
Hand-woven with high-quality Miyuki glass beads, natural thread, and 18K gold-plated sterling silver (925) earwires. Only the good stuff. :)
25% of proceeds from this pair are donated to Wiñaypaq Intercultural School, supporting free, culturally rooted education for children in Peru's Sacred Valley.
