High Desert Earrings

$120.00

Inspired by the high desert surrounding Torrey, Utah, where these earrings came to life. A place where ancient sandstone rises from the earth in brilliant shades of rust and ochre, juniper and pinyon take root among the rocks, and sagebrush softens the landscape with its silvery green.

Among the most expressive in the Utah Desert collection, these weavings bring together the many colors and textures of a landscape I know and love. Layered geometry, warm earth tones, and flowing fringe offer a little reflection of the beauty, contrast, and movement found in this remarkable corner of the world.

Created with acknowledgment and respect for the Southern Paiute, whose ancestral homelands include the Torrey area.

Lovingly hand-woven with high-quality Miyuki glass beads, natural thread, and 18K gold-plated sterling silver (925) kidney-style earwires. Only the good stuff. :)

25% of proceeds from this pair are donated to the Koosharem Band of the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah and Utah Diné Bikéyah, in the spirit of reciprocity and care for the land and its people.
